The nine lives of Papaye

Je suis très heureuse et fière de vous annoncer que je fait partie de l'exposition collective "Nine lives - The Return of the Cat" qui se tient à partir d'aujourd'hui, en Ecosse, à la Galerie Inverarity .

Pour cet évènement, j'ai choisi un cadre-maison pour accueillir les "Neuf vies de Papaye", un chat "exotic short hair" blanc. Voici l'histoire de ces intrépides vies (de bas en haut et de gauche à droite):

1- L'âge d'or: pendant l'Egypte Antique, Papaye était la déesse Bastet. Elle est ici représentée avec son fils Mihos et protège le petit Pharaon.
2- La malédiction: dans la mythologie indienne, le roi des dieux Indra apparut à Ahalya sous les traits de Papaye et l'a séduisit. Ils furent tout deux maudits par le mari de celle-ci. Le corps de papaye fut recouvert de ce qu'elle avait toujours désiré, ce qui par la suite devient mille yeux.
3- Live fast, ride fast: dans la mythologie nordique, Papaye était la déesse Freyja, conduisant son char tiré par des chats munchkin.
4- Les temps sataniques: au 17ème siècle, dans le Massachusetts colonial, Papaye fut accusée à tort de sorcellerie durant les procès de Salem.
5- L'heure de la revanche: dans le Japon médiéval, Papaye était un Kaibyo et avait soif de revanche.
6- Période enchantée: au 17ème siècle, Mme d'Aulnoy lui écrit son propre conte: "La Chatte Blanche".
7- Le reigne: à Versailles, Papaye était un membre actif du Conseil de Louis XV.
8- La vie d'artiste: Papaye fut le chat favori et la muse de Jean Cocteau.
9- Tout ça pour... ça...

I'm very proud and honored to tell you that I'm part of the "Nine lives - The Return of the Cat" collective exhibition at the Inverarity Gallery, in Scotland, which start today.

For this event, I choose an house-frame to welcome "The nine lives of Papaye", a white exotic short hair cat. Here comes her epic lives (from bottom left to top right):

1. The Golden Age: in Ancient Egypt, Papaye was the goddess Bastet. She's here with her son Mihos and protecting tiny Pharaoh.

2. The cursed life: in Hindu mythology, the king of dogs Indra appeared to Ahalya as Papaye and seduced her. They were both cursed by her husband. Papaye's body was now filled with what what she always sought, which was after turned into thousand eyes.

3. Live fast, ride fast: in Norse mythology , Papaye was the goddess Freyja, driving in the sky her chariot pulled by munchkin cats.

4. The satanic time: in the 17th century, in colonial Massachusetts, Papaye was fealty accused of witchcraft during the Salem witch trials.

5. The revenge life: in ancient Japan, Papaye was a Kaibyo and was thirsty for revenge.

6. Living the dream: in 17th century, Mme d'Aulnoy wrote Papaye her own fairytale: "La Chatte Blanche" ("The white cat")

7. The regnal years: in Versailles, Papaye was an active member of the Court of Louis XV.

8. The "artiste" life: Papaye was the favorite cats of Jean Cocteau and his muse.

9. All those lives for... this...
